Creating the Hotel Business Stage

Step into the Hotel Business Stage at the Independent Hotel Show London 2026, in partnership with eviivo and designed by Merav Bustan Design. Conceived as an architectural gateway, the immersive setting draws visitors into the conversations shaping the future of hospitality while creating a distinctive sense of arrival.

Inspired by the timeless geometry of Art Deco and reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, the design uses layered architectural forms, integrated lighting and soft curves to create depth and naturally focus attention towards the speakers. A rich palette of fig, burgundy, terracotta and blush brings warmth to the space, while cinematic influences add character and a sense of occasion.

Balancing visual impact with practical considerations, Merav Bustan Design demonstrates how memorable hospitality environments can create an emotional connection while remaining functional, buildable and economically conscious.

Creating Spaces with Impact: Q&A with Merav Bustan

The stage is conceived as an architectural gateway - a series of layered forms that create depth, rhythm and a strong sense of arrival. We wanted it to feel immersive and memorable, drawing people naturally towards the conversations happening on stage while creating a distinctive visual identity within the show.

We looked at the timeless geometry of Art Deco, but through a much more contemporary and playful lens. There is also a cinematic quality inspired by carefully framed perspectives, repetition and colour - almost like creating a scene where architecture, lighting and people all become part of the composition.

Hospitality is increasingly about creating experiences people remember, not simply beautiful spaces. For us, shaping tomorrow means combining strong storytelling and emotion with flexibility, sustainability and commercial intelligence - creating something visually impactful without losing sight of how it is built, used and reused.

I hope it demonstrates that memorable design does not have to come from complexity or excess. A strong idea, carefully developed through colour, proportion, light and detail, can create something with real emotional impact while still being practical, efficient and commercially considered - which, for us, is at the heart of great hospitality design.

The Concept

Rich Colour & Warmth

A sophisticated palette of deep burgundy, terracotta, blush and warm neutrals gives the Hotel Business Stage a rich, inviting character. Carefully balanced contrasts bring energy to the space while soft furnishings and tactile finishes create the warmth and comfort associated with great hospitality.

A Cinematic Experience

Inspired by the cinematic world of Wes Anderson, the stage is designed to make an impression from every viewpoint. Considered composition, rich colour and theatrical detailing give the space a sense of occasion, creating a memorable backdrop for the conversations and personalities taking to the stage.

Architecture That Draws You In

Layered arches, rhythmic framing and integrated lighting transform the stage into an immersive architectural experience. Inspired by the timeless geometry of Art Deco and reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, the repeating forms create depth and naturally focus attention towards the speakers.
