Simon Hunt
Simon Hunt is co-owner of Kilmartin Castle, a restored 16th-century castle and exclusive-use guest property in Argyll, Scotland. A former creative director, Simon bought the property with his wife, Stef, in 2014 after a road trip inspired them to create the authentic Scottish castle stay they had struggled to find.
The couple left their overseas careers and carried out a hands-on restoration, reopening Kilmartin Castle as a five-bedroom retreat for private stays, celebrations and intimate weddings. The property has since gained international recognition, with coverage from The New York Times, the Financial Times, The Times, Monocle and Channel 4, as well as inclusion in eviivo's Top 10 Stays in the World.
Simon remains closely involved in the castle's design, operations and guest experience, bringing the practical perspective of an independent owner-operator balancing personal hospitality with the efficient management of a complex historic property.
