Robert Richardson
Robert Richardson FIH MI Hon DLitt is Chief Executive Officer of the award-winning Institute of Hospitality, the world's largest professional body for more than 17,000 hospitality professionals. He leads the organisation's mission to champion hospitality as a respected global profession through lifelong learning, professional recognition and international networks. A qualified chef, Robert began his career in the kitchen before progressing to hotel General Manager, leading luxury, boutique and heritage hotels. He later held senior roles with Hilton Worldwide, IHG and Ramada Jarvis before becoming CEO of the Institute. A recognised advocate for professional standards and workforce development, Robert is a regular conference speaker and industry commentator. In 2026, he received an Honorary Doctorate in Hospitality from the University of Wolverhampton in recognition of his contribution to hospitality education and professional development. Robert is also a Visiting Professor at Ulster University Business School, a trustee of Room to Reward, and an Honorary Master Innholder.
