Raj Chakraborty
Raj is a graduate in hospitality management from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen and started his career in London, working his way up to Executive Chef in restaurants and private members clubs before joining Marriott Hotels. He was the Executive Chef for The London Marriott Grosvenor Square and then for the St Pancras Renaissance hotel. After 11 years at Marriott he joined Macdonald Hotels as a Regional Executive Chef. He was put on the General Manager Development programme and had the opportunity to complete a General Managers Programme at Cornell University. Within 18 months he was a General Manger for the company and now looks after 6 properties as a Regional Managing Director. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and a St Julian’s Scholar.
