Ian Taylor
Ian Taylor, alongside his wife Christa, is a hotelier and co-owner of the Kaleidoscope Collection, a group of luxury hotels in England. The couple, described as "former corporate hoteliers who broke free," are known for their unique and eclectic design approach, with a mantra of "luxury for the curious." Taylor is hands-on in the design process, sourcing furniture and fittings to give each hotel a distinct personality that is far from "beigey neutral."
The Kaleidoscope Collection currently includes four hotels: Homewood, The Bird, Bishopstrow, and Dukes. The Taylors have a history of successfully transforming properties, with past successes including the Abbey Hotel in Bath and Number 15 Great Pulteney, which they sold after significant investment and renovation. Their business philosophy revolves around finding hotels in need of attention and helping them reach their potential with a playful and imaginative spirit.
