The UK's premier business event for luxury and boutique hotels - the Independent Hotel Show – is going global with the launch of its first show in Europe.
This first European Independent Hotel Show will debut at Rai, Amsterdam on 8 and 9 May 2019. A curated selection of 150 premium suppliers, a brand new hand built database of 25,000 hoteliers, a programme of educational seminars and multiple networking opportunities will form the bedrock of the show.
Founded in London in 2012, the Independent Hotel Show in the UK is the only live business platform dedicated to the needs of independent, luxury and boutique hoteliers in the UK and Ireland.
Having enjoyed seven years of success and support of its UK community, it is now broadening its reach to bring its passion and experience to a wider European audience of independently spirited hoteliers. The timing is perfect. The Amsterdam show enters the market in a period of strong industry growth. European hotel transaction volume reached €20.9 billion in 2017, an 11% increase from 2016 surpassing what had already been a record level year in 2015.1 The sector is robust and continues to grow in response to the evolving demands of guests for better and unique experiences.
Why Amsterdam? It is a forward-thinking, attractive and easy to travel to destination. It was last year’s most attractive European city for investment2 and celebrates a vigorous tourism industry. Occupancy in Amsterdam is forecast at 82% in 2018 and the demand is growing, RevPar is expected to be up 11% by 20193 and there are 10,000 new rooms under development in the city centre alone.4 The opportunities are huge. Innovative hotel brands have chosen Amsterdam to open new properties over recent years: Zoku, Hoxton, Soho House, W Hotels, The Conservatorium, Andaz and more.
The industry in Amsterdam is informal, open-minded, tech savvy and driven by ideas. Its unique culture and it being a European center for innovation will be mirrored at the Independent Hotel Show. It will provide an arena for creativity, experiences, inspiration and business to blend. It will be a facilitator of work and play to encourage collaboration and revelation.
Miranda Martin, Portfolio Director of Fresh Montgomery’s niche market events, said: "Our first edition of the Independent Hotel Show in Europe will broaden our passion for and support of the hotelier community into Europe, bringing together and redefining the current and future hotel landscape. It will help hoteliers discover and apply the best solutions and experiences for the modern consumer, who is highly-connected, well-traveled, business-driven and seeks authenticity; whilst simultaneously providing practical solutions to help hoteliers streamline efficiency and profitability across their hotel businesses”
