A New Chapter: Glover Architects integrates leisure legacy into contemporary practice
Glover Architects, the RIBA-chartered practice based in Fitzrovia, London - and recognised leaders in regenerative, circular, and sustainable construction through teaching and research at the University of Cambridge and UCL - is proud to announce a meaningful new collaboration that brings decades of expertise in leisure and commercial architecture into its studio. This marks a significant moment of creative exchange, as the distinguished retiring architect and founder of Mador Architects shares a lifetime of knowledge in large-scale leisure, commercial, and landscape design.
As part of this transition, key team members from Mador Architects, with deep experience in commercial and hospitality projects, will be joining the Glover Architects studio. This infusion of talent strengthens the practice’s ability to deliver ambitious, large-scale schemes while remaining true to its ethos of crafted, heritage-led design.
Known for its contemporary, highly crafted work with historic and heritage sites, Glover Architects has built a reputation for redefining traditional architecture in ways that feel both grounded and forward-thinking. This collaboration draws on a shared passion for natural, elemental materials, intelligent reuse, and design that speaks deeply of place.
"This is a rare opportunity to weave together generational expertise - combining Mador’s legacy in leisure masterplanning with our studio’s evolving language of crafted heritage and sustainable design," says Anastasia Glover, founder of Glover Architects.
The strengthened team will focus on transforming distinctive sites, from boutique hotels and countryside retreats to the adaptive reuse of listed buildings, into elegant, future-facing destinations. Their shared values of active conservation, circular construction, and a deep respect for landscape underpin every project.
As a female-led practice, Glover Architects remains committed to a hands-on, highly personal approach - working closely with clients, artisans, and consultants to deliver architecture that is elegant, resilient, and rooted in place. Circular thinking is embedded in every decision, from the natural materials they select to how their spaces are designed to adapt, endure, and age beautifully.
This new direction will be formally presented at the Independent Hotel Show 2025, where Glover Architects will unveil its latest work and this unique creative handover - a celebration of legacy, materiality, and the enduring impact of well-considered design.
