Innovative asset management solutions from Traka on display at the Independent Hotel Show

Traka, an ASSA ABLOY company and the global leader in intelligent management solutions for keys and equipment, is exhibiting its market-leading asset control technology at the Independent Hotel Show in London on 5-6 October. Among the solutions at Stand #1815 will be Traka’s intelligent key cabinets and modular locker systems, which are being utilised by hotels worldwide to streamline operations.

Traka is empowering hotel operators to manage keys, badges and fobs effectively through its line of intelligent key cabinets, which integrate into a hotel’s main access control platform. Managers designate who has access to which asset, monitor who removed which asset and when, and be notified when it hasn’t been returned by a certain time. At the show will be Traka’s Touch Core and Touch Pro cabinets, which are reducing downtime in the distribution and return of access control assets and provide a comprehensive, real-time audit trail of all usage.

They’re also helping hotel managers decentralise asset management so employees within certain areas (i.e., guest services, food & beverage, maintenance) have assets nearby that only apply to their needs. This eliminates the chance of employees accessing assets they’re not authorised for, and reduces the time spent traveling from one part of the hotel to the other just to retrieve one.

Also on display in the IH London stand will be Traka’s new Flexible Asset Detection Locker. In addition to keys, badges and fobs, hotel staff often use a mix of shared personal devices like smartphones, tablets, radios and scanners. Just like with access control assets, it’s critically important to manage these devices efficiently to avoid costly lost or stolen devices, especially those that contain sensitive information.

The Flexible Asset Detection Locker solves for this need by serving as a secure storage resource that allows employees to return any device to any compartment. Each device is RFID-tagged, so the locker recognises when it’s removed and returned. That information is kept in a real-time log, so managers can see who’s responsible for which device. It ultimately provides flexibility to hotel operators and their staff, who can efficiently manage and store any shared device at any time.
