A bigger space for a growing marketplace, Destination Spa at this year's edition will allow for more companies to showcase their latest spa products and services to our audience of visiting hoteliers. A greater wellness and leisure talks programme will discuss the latest in health tourism and spa trends. We talk to Anna Hubbard about why the Good Spa Guide has chosen to support this year, and what they can offer our hotelier guests.



This is the first time you've had a presence at the Show, what attracted you to this year's edition?

We visited the show last year and loved the quality of the exhibitors and the relaxed feel of the event. The destination spa area was a great addition last year and should be even bigger this year. We had to get involved. Good Spa Guide is the consumer voice of the spa industry in the UK and we want that voice to reach hoteliers too.

What fresh ideas and knowledge are you bringing to the Show?

We regularly survey spa consumers to find out what they want from a spa experience, treatments they love, trends they buy in to and most recently, if they would buy products from a spa. Come and see us to collect a printed survey to find out if your spa provides the experience spa lovers are looking for.

What consumer trends do you see impacting the independent hotel market right now?

Consumers are becoming more spa savvy and look for a hotel with a good spa for a leisure break. So, a lot of independent hotels have added a spa offering or are considering doing so. The trick is to make sure that the spa extends the independent personality of the hotel and make sure that it is big and good enough to meet the demand of hotel leisure guests and day guests. With the industry growing, consumers rely on our industry standard bubble rating and reviews even more, to make sure they find the right spa. 


What's hot at Good Spa Guide?

We are celebrating our tenth anniversary this year. When Good Spa Guide started there were 50 spas in the UK, now we list nearly 900 on our site. With the spa market constantly growing, the need to offer spa goers something different along with high standards of customer care is greater than ever.

Our 2016 Regional Awards will focus on excellence in over ten regions in the UK; the winning spas will be the ones that score the highest on our audit. The National Awards will be voted for by consumers, there are eight categories from Best for Luxury to Best for a Stay.

What are you most excited about as a part of this year's Show?

The opportunity to talk to hoteliers and share our spa expertise. If you have recently opened a spa or are planning to do so, come and talk to us to find out how to launch in the busy UK spa market.
