A Fresh perspective for the Independent Hotel Show
The Independent Hotel Show, which announced a 12% increase in visitor numbers this year, has been acquired by leading hospitality exhibition company Fresh Montgomery. Founded in 1999, Fresh Montgomery's portfolio includes large-scale events such as Hotelympia and The International Food & Drink Event in London, the Great Hospitality Show in Birmingham, ScotHot in Glasgow, as well as more niche shows such as the Speciality & Fine Food Fair and Speciality Chocolate Fair held in London and Singapore.
The Independent Hotel Show was launched in association with SME in 2012, and Fresh Montgomery has helped to nurture the show to become the outstanding event it is today. SME, who has managed the day to day production of the event since its inception, has sold its shares to Fresh who will wholly manage the show going forward.
The Fresh Montgomery hospitality division Managing Director Toby Wand is looking forward
to building upon the growing success, providing knowledge and resource whilst ensuring the show maintains true and relevant to the independent hotel market. “Adding The Independent Hotel Show to our portfolio as a wholly owned event is a great strategic fit for the Fresh Montgomery business. The show has a unique style and dedicated following which we will strengthen through our wider partnerships. The show team is very passionate to progress the show further and deliver an even better event in 2017 with great content, speakers and an even wider reach of hoteliers throughout the UK.”
The Independent Hotel Show team will continue to be led by Miranda Martin, show director, who has been steadily growing the exposure and significance of the show in hoteliers' calendars.
“Ever since the first show, it's been important to me to ensure it retains its premium feel and intimacy. We will continue to insist on relevance and innovation, and to bring together the best speakers and exhibitors to capture the imagination of our visitors. For 2017 we will continue to support hotels throughout their business, talk to more hoteliers and meet with more suppliers to continue to shape a show that focuses on growth and improvement.”
2017 will present the same features that were so well received this year, with a focus on delivering increased intellectual content on marketing, technology, finance and investment as well as design and legislation.
